Archive

Welcome to the Archive page on BEHANN. This is the home for all the media, or, entertainment, productions that were created in the past, under the management of Ben. This will include media content licensed by the, then, RKUK, RKUK Online, RKUK Media, ERSIUS Media, and, more.

Some content will be hosted on the BEHANN website, including the two below, whilst the rest will be available as part of an RKUK Archive website.

Self-made productions

One of the big things that really set off the RKUK brand was what became RKUK Entertainment, our self-made and produced productions. Partnering with friends at the time, it was a hobby that grew in to something quite significant. Did we get a large audience and incredible success? No, but what we did do was have fun, and, as a result, have plenty of great things to look back on. Whilst, I certainly wasn’t intending on releasing music, as this was, as well, just a bit of fun, at the time. Likewise, it’s great to look back on and I never-say-never at the idea of reviving those.

RKUK Entertainment

Content from the early days of RKUK, from the RKUK Entertainment days of 2002 – 2011, and, RKUK Online days of 2005 – 2011. This includes a wide range of series produced such as; Dr Conrad, The Limit, 3 Wise Men & Jeff, The Field, Shocking Stuff, Mini Magnetic Food Ads and so much more.

Damn Crows

Damn Crows is a music project which ran between 2011 and 2016. Creations mostly produced by Ben Hanson, alone, but, with the occasional collaborative efforts. Vocals were provided by Simon Caddy on the debut single Debenhams, which remains the only vocally led single.

What about everything else?

Travel back before the days of BEHANN, with the RKUK Archive website.

IMPORTANT: Content below will link you to a website outside of BEHANN. This website is not updated, it serves as a hub for old RKUK Media content that is not being hosted on BEHANN.

Journalism and reviews

Whilst it’s fair to say that RKUK Entertainment is what started RKUK off in the early 2000s, it became a website devoted to posting content, whether that was reviews, news and so much more. This would mostly contain content covering the world of Technology. RKUK Media hosted a huge range of Technology posts and industry recognised Music reviews too.

You can access all of these below;

Technology News and Reviews

Technology was at our core at RKUK Media. Covering news from the world of Technology. This began as Your Future Mobile in early 2000s, to Technology, The Tech Show and, finally, R-Tech. Regardless of the name, you’d find all the latest News and Reviews you could always rely on. View our old archives right here.

Music Reviews

Whilst RKUK Media didn’t really host too many Music reviews, and, it’s fair to say these could have been attached to Ben’s Blog as they were Music reviews from Albums / Singles etc he was checking out, at the time, these were still very unbiased and full featured. Some of the Music reviews were also industry recognised and were provided earlier than release!

Music partnerships

RKUK Media had multiple music projects over its many years, including its own record label RMG-UK. During the years of 2008 and 2014, RKUK Media’s website was also a place you could view Music videos provided by official record labels during the YouTube / VEVO debacle which saw near-all music videos inaccessible to most. These grew RKUK Media’s accessibility and visibility to new-heights garnering over 10 MILLION SITE VIEWS in the short years they were available. This is no longer the case, of course, today, and the partnership ended once the debacle was closed.

We also made partnerships with two bands which unfortunately got unsigned during the late 2000s. One partnership is to host their classic content, another to share solo work by the lead singer. You can find both below;

Ghosts (Simon Pettigrew)

Ghosts were a British indie/pop band from London, and were ninth on the BBC’s Sound Of 2007 poll. Before signing with Atlantic Records in November 2006 they were previously known as Polanski. Their sound has been compared to Keane, Thirteen Senses, The Bluetones and Radiohead. Their only signed album remains The World Is Outside.

Protocol

Protocol started out in 2005 releasing their first single She Waits For Me, then in early 2006 with Wheres The Pleasure, due to record label ‘Polydor’ and Protocol having arguments and disagreements with each other the band split up and third single ‘Love Is My Drug’ was cancelled as a single and the album ‘Rules Of Engagement’ was never to be!

Ben’s blog??

Well… about that. Whilst BEHANN is a website dedicated to Ben and Hannah, they met in 2020 and grew together since that point. That doesn’t mean there wasn’t a Ben’s Blog before then.

For obvious reasons I don’t entirely recommend heading back in to the old Blogs as things weren’t exactly fun back then, in most cases, and, of course, you really are just heading in to my past. But, if you’re a strange crazy person who wants to read through my thought back then, be our guest 😁
